Mae Phil Markham, Trefnydd Rhanbarthol o Swyddfa Ranbarthol UCU, wedi cynnig cynnal hyfforddiant parthed delio ag achosion personol. Os oes gennych ddiddordeb, wnewch chi adael i mi neu Alison AGarrod@ucu.org.uk gael gwybod cyn gynted â phosib, yn bendant erbyn 20 Chwefror, os hoffech chi gymryd rhan yn yr hyfforddiant hwn a gynhelir ddydd Mercher, 1af Ebrill, rhwng 10 y.b. ac 1 y.p.

Mae angen o leiaf 8 o bobl.

PERSONAL CASE TRAINING

Phil Markham, Regional Organiser from UCU Regional Office, has offered to provide some training in dealing with personal cases. If you would be interested can you let either myself or Alison AGarrod@ucu.org.uk know as soon as possible but definitely by 20th Feb if you would like to participate in this training on Wednesday 1st April, 10am-1pm.

We need at least 8 people.

MEETING TODAY TO DISCUSS PROPOSED CHANGES TO PENGLAIS NURSERY C6 HUGH OWEN 2p.m.



Diolch i bawb sydd wedi rhoi sylwadau a gwybodaeth ac, yn dilyn ein he-bost, mae UCU wedi trefnu cyfarfod i drafod y newidiadau arfaethedig i Feithrinfa Pen-glais ddydd Iau, 5 Chwefror, am 2y.p., yn Ystafell C6, Adeilad Hugh Owen. Dewch draw a chyflwyno eich pryderon a chefnogi cydweithwyr cymorth, a hefyd, gwahoddwch unrhyw un yr ydych yn ei adnabod sydd ddim yn aelod i roi mewnbwn a mynegi eu pryderon.

Thanks for all those who have provided comments and information and further to our email UCU have arranged a meeting to discuss the proposed changes to the Penglais Nursery on Thursday 5th February at 2p.m. in Room C6 Hugh Owen building.  Please come along and put forward your concerns and support colleagues and also invite any non members you may know who would like to give input and express their concerns.

On Tuesday 13th January 2015 between 12-2p.m. there will be a UCU recruitment stand in the IBERS Penglais receiption area.  If you would like to
come along to discuss any issues or indeed bring along any non members in your Department you are more than welcome.  Alsion and I will be
there and happy to take forward any concerns or matters you may wish to be raised with the Local Association.  We are particularly interested
in encouraging non members to join, as the more members UCU have the greater our strength in bargaining and negotiations locally.

Byddwch yn cofio, yn unol â'r penderfyniadau a wnaethpwyd yng nghyfarfod arbennig y Pwyllgor Addysg Uwch (HEC) ar 19 Tachwedd 2015, bod y boicot marcio ac asesu wedi’i ohirio tan 16 Ionawr 2015.

Er mwyn cydymffurfio â gofynion cyfreithiol, mae UCU heddiw wedi cyflwyno rhybudd newydd o weithredu diwydiannol i Brifysgol Aberystwyth, ynghyd â’r sefydliadau addysg uwch eraill.

Mae'r gweithredu diwydiannol hwn yn weithred barhaol heb fod yn streic mewn ffurf boicot asesu a marcio a bydd yn dechrau ar ddydd Gwener 16 Ionawr 2015.

Mae cyfarfod arbennig o’r HEC wedi'i alw ar gyfer dydd Mercher 14 Ionawr fel y gall y negodwyr gyflwyno’r datblygiadau diweddaraf.  Bydd adroddiad o’r cyfarfod hwn yn cael ei anfon at y canghennau cyn gynted â phosib.

Os fydd y gweithredu hwn yn digwydd bydd angen i ni sefydlu is-grŵp lleol a fyddai’n cwrdd am tua hanner awr bob wythnos ar gyfer cyflwyno a derbyn diweddariadau  a chyfleu i'r aelodau yr hyn sy'n digwydd ac unrhyw weithredu bydd angen ei wneud.

You will recall that in line with the decisions made at the special Higher Education Committee (HEC) meeting on 19 November 2014, the marking and assessment boycott was suspended until 16 January 2015.

To comply with legal requirements, UCU has today served a fresh notice of industrial action on Aberystwyth University, along with other HEIs.

The industrial action is intended to be continuous action short of a strike in the form of an assessment and marking boycott and will commence on Friday 16 January 2015.

A special HEC has been called for Wednesday 14 January, to allow negotiators to provide an update on progress. A report of this meeting will be communicated to branches as soon as possible.

The union balloted members in opposition to the employers’ initial proposals and we have subsequently put forward our own counter proposals.

If this action does go ahead, we will require a local sub-group to be set up which would meet for about half an hour each week to update progress and communicate to members on what is happening and
any action needed to be taken.

USS PENSION DISPUTE - PETITION HANDOVER

Mae Mary Ferrie, Swyddog Trefnu UCU Prifysgol Aberystwyth yn rhoi’r ddeiseb (wedi llofnodi gan 17,000 o bobl) sy’n galw am bensiwn teg i Rebecca Davies, Dirprwy Is-Ganghellor.  Cafodd llofnodion eu dosbarthu i gyfarfod o gyflogwyr yn Llundain ac mae nifer o ganghennau dros Brydain wedi rhoi copi i reolwyr Prifysgolion fel rhan o gyfnod trosglwyddo torfol. Mae’r ddeiseb yn FYW, mae’n bosibl llofnodi, os nad ydych chi wedi eisoes.  https://www.ucu.org.uk/demandafairuss

Mary Ferrie UCU Organising Officer for Aberystwyth University hands over the 17,000 word petition demanding a fair pension to Rebecca Davies, Pro Vice Chancellor.
The signatures were also delivered to a meeting of university employers in London and a great number of branches across the country also delivered copies to their
University management as part of UCU’s mass handover.  The petition remains LIVE so please continue to support, if you have not already signed
